The goal of this blog is to inform about Bhutan's achievements in relation to Millennium Development Goal 4. Which is, reduce by 2/3, between 1990 and 2015, the under 5 mortality rate. Bhutan is the only country in southern Asia to fulfill the requirements of this goal.
The key determinants of Bhutan are, socioeconomic development, because child mortality is greatly associated with the levels of gross national income per capita. Socioeconomic development also promotes child development because the living conditions and healthcare are improved in areas with higher socioeconomic development.
